We would like to welcome you to Penny Pot Nursery Harogate. Our aim is to provide the perfect solution to any parent looking for childcare by understanding both the child's and parent’s needs. So whether you are looking to return to work, moving into the area or you just want your child to socialise, learn and develop, then come to Penny Pot Nursery.
Located in close proximity to The Army Foundation College, Harrogate, the nursery welcomes BOTH military and non-military families.
Here at Penny Pot we are committed to giving your children the best possible start and this is achieved by working in close partnership with our children’s parents, extended families and our local community, we will provide a warm, welcoming environment in which the children will Learn, Laugh and be Loved. Children, parents and staff will value, respect and care for each other in a relaxed and happy atmosphere.
We have experienced, highly qualified and friendly staff who aim to make your child’s time at nursery as fun as possible while they learn and develop their skills in a safe environment.
Our nursery has had a complete transformation thanks to a substantial grant received through the Early Learning and Childcare Support Fund. It has allowed us to carry out a refurbishment of the facilities both indoors, including resources, furniture and an indoor gym. The benefits to the children have been amazing as it has provided them with greater learning opportunities but most of all added fun.
In October 2025 we were awarded a further grant by The Armed Foreces Covenant Fund Trust to develop our outdoor provison, providing an outdoor classroom environment to support the children's emotional well-being, reslience and the love for the outdoors. The project includes an allotment, large mud kitchen, trim trail for physical development, quiet spaces, large musical instruments and much more.

"My son started here, in summer 2021 when he turned 1. Initially, he was very attached to me so it was hard to leave him, particularly as he would get upset. The staff were amazing at settling him and helping me as well. Now, he can’t wait to run into the nursery, all smiles waiting to see everybody.." Fiona K (Mother of Child)
"My daughter started Superstars in Jan-22 after moving from another nursery. She settled in immediately and is thriving in the new, exciting and nurturing environment. Her friendships have grown, she is able to express herself creatively, her homemade meals are varied and sound delicious." Gemma K (Mother of Child)
"I could not be happier choosing this nursery for my son's first nursery. Starting at only 8-months-old, I was worried and nervous to leave him in the care of others, but the fantastic team have put me at ease and have settled him so well. He has built great bonds and friendships with adults and other children and is learning new things daily. There is a wide range of great resources, activities and constant stimulation." D P (Father of Child)
cc"We moved our son to Penny Pot nursery in September, and I am so glad we did. He absolutely loves going to nursery and the staff are all so amazing with him and the other children. My son runs into the room every day excited and gives the staff huge cuddles! They are always doing fun activities, every day he is doing something different - even a trip to the local park. There’s been a big refurb and the place looks amazing, it’s a really lovely space for the children and the outdoor areas are fab. I can’t recommend this nursery enough, a fantastic manager and staff who really care about the children they look after! So glad we chose this nursery!" Katy P (Mother of Child)
"C's development over the past six months, from walking to talking and beyond, has been impressive, helped in no small part by the support and learning she enjoys daily at Penny Pot. The team is fantastic at what it does - creative and caring, positive, professional and friendly. The staff strongly encourages social as well as intellectual development, bringing on C's ability to engage with and respect others while learning in creative and fun ways.Penny Pot offers a great environment for children to develop, learn and, most of all, have fun." James K
"Fantastic nursery. Two of my children are currently at the nursery and love it as it's like a home from home environment. My eldest daughter attended and loved it that much that she thoroughly enjoys going back to the nursery to collect her younger siblings." Amy K
"A warm welcoming friendly environment, staff go above and beyond to provide a safe, fun, stimulating, caring environment where children can thrive and develop up until its time for school. my daughter has attended since being 18 months old and I am so happy to see the confident bright girl she has become and is 100% ready and prepared for school. The girls are excellent and Isabella will miss them!" Amy R
"My son settled in really easily and his confidence is growing daily. I love his new sense of independence and his inter-social skills have developed and helped him grow a strong personality. I love the Penny Pot team and feel more than comfortable leaving him in their hands." Zoe D
"The care provided is professional, excellent and brilliant. When I am at work I don't even worry about my son because I know he is in perfect, capable and professional hands. My son has benefited tremendously and he has also developed and come out of his shell." Josephine M
"When my little girl started at Penny Pot she was very shy having been at home with mum for 3 years. Within just a few weeks in the Superstars room, she had made fantastic relationships with the staff and lovely friendships with the other children. She is coming home after each session having learnt something new and so excited to go back the following day." Vikki L
"So glad we chose Penny Pot for our child's first nursery. We were both anxious to put her in full time but the staff do a brilliant job and cannot be faulted. She absolutely adores them and has come on leaps and bounds since starting there at 1yo. Fab that you can go by the hours rather than a full time/part time block. We are moving area and taking her out of Penny Pot is by far the hardest thing of the lot as we now have a very high expectation of the next place!" Leah J
